About Us
Greg Russell
Greg grew up in Coffs Harbour, where he attended the local high school. He returned soon after graduating from the University of NSW to set up a practice in Park Beach Plaza in 1980. Greg is a member of ACBO (Australian Council of Behavioural Optometry) and over the years has developed a keen interest in children's vision and behavioural optometry.
When not at work, Greg can be found cycling the streets of Coffs Harbour in the early mornings or coaching surf lifesaving at Sawtell.
Michael Jones
Michael graduated from the University of NSW in 1991 and spent the following eight years working in and around South Australia, followed by a two-year stint in Sydney with contact lens specialist Jim Kokkinakis. He joined Greg in 2001 and became a partner in the practice in 2003. Michael's early work with Jim has developed into a special interest in contact lenses, particularly orthokeratology.
Michael is a member of CCLSA (Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia), OSO (Orthokeratology Society of Oceania), and AAO (American Academy of Orthokeratology), and will complete his Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics in late 2010.
Michael is married to a local GP and has three young children. When not involved with work or home commitments, he can be found injuring himself playing soccer for the Boambee over-35s and helping to coach the juniors.
Patrick Kelly
Optometrist Patrick Kelly commenced work with us in May 2010.
Pat completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Optometry) at Queensland University of Technology, graduating with Honours in 1997. Since then, Pat has worked in a variety of locations including inner city Adelaide and Brisbane as well as rural Victoria and the United Kingdom.
After marrying his wife Meagan (a physiotherapist) in 2000, he moved to North West Tasmania. While in Tasmania, Pat completed an authorisation course in Ocular Therapeutics with the State University of New York, held in Hobart. Pat is a member of the Optometrists Association Australia (OAA) and served on the OAA (Tasmanian Division) Council of Management for three years prior to moving to Coffs Harbour.
Outside of work, Pat enjoys almost any sport, music and reading. Those pursuits, however, have currently taken a back seat to spending as much time as possible with his young family, mostly at the park and the beach.
Julie Cronin
Julie started with Russell & Jones back in 1994. She is one of two optical dispensers and is in charge of purchasing the wonderful fashion frames available in our extensive range.
Alison Coady
Alison started with Russell & Jones in 2009 and has already shown herself to be an indispensible member of the team. She has over 25 years experience in the industry and, as our other optical dispenser, can advise customers about our extensive range of high quality fashion frames or the benefits of the best Zeiss lenses.
Jenny Davis
Jenny is our longest serving staff member, having started with Russell & Jones back in 1990. Over the years she has become an expert in the fitting of fashion frames and can always be relied upon to provide impartial advice as to what looks best.
Debbie Brummit
Debbie joined us in 2006 and has quickly become an integral member of the team. She has also gained a great deal of knowledge in the fitting of fashion frames and like Jenny, can provide great impartial advice as to what looks best.
